I’m not surprised because Chief Warrant Officers are usually pretty squared away people. All the CWOs in the Marines infantry look like GI Joe action figures & know everything in the school of infantry textbooks.

This description doesnt even come close to doing him justice. For one, he is a Navy Test Pilot School graduate and has more than 2000 hours flying in over THIRTY types of rotary and fixed wing aircraft as a test pilot. And of course, he has an undergrad mech eng degree and grad systems engineering degree, latter from Naval Postgraduate School.

Bailey, a decorated aviator and test pilot with more than 11 years of service, was one of only 10 people selected from a pool of over 8,000 highly qualified civilian and military applicants.
He will join the ranks of very few Soldiers who can also call themselves astronauts.
