Blue Sky Bonsai

This is my ficus microcarpa, it's got some issues like old wire-bite still visible, and some inverse taper at points, but I'm happy with the way it's heading. In general you can't go wrong with a ficus!

In the fifth picture you can see how it looked 5 years ago, a few months after I rescued it from the bargain "nearly dead" shelf in a garden centre.

Good news: I now have a replacement PC, now up and running with video editing software installed. I filmed some summer pruning before these photos, so I'll start editing imminently.

Also, I've been putting the finishing touches on a big new project which will see the light of day in the next few weeks. It might surprise you but I'm sure you'll like it! More news on that coming soon...

I had a ficus a really nice one but couldnt survive the winter even in the shed and burlapped up in nyc. Why do alot of ficuses have these slice marks on the trunk? Look like straight lines for some reason. Is that to thicken the trunks up? U can see it in pic 2 and up the trunk
