What's a "BUDGET" gun?

2 days ago | [YT] | 64

@abettermind

Depends on the type of gun. Pocket pistols get budget under 350. Full size striker guns get budget under 5. Hammer guns usually get budget status under about 900. Competition guns get budget under about 1500. There are far too many variables to hold my reasoning consistent. There are a lot of exceptions for every category.

Depends if “Budget” is the lowest cost category in your mind. I have one category below “Budget” in my mental map of the market, so I didn’t pick sub$-400 as the “budget” category.

Honestly I feel like under 300 would be the budget guns with how well the Taurus g series is doing and the Springfield xd series 400 is where they start to get nice

I would say anything less than the average for the big box companies. S&W, Walther, Glock, SIG (lol) Springfield, all charge around 500-600 for their base poly-striker guns. That's industry standard, so anything less is considered "budget".

Even a $400 gun doubles in price by the time you get the accessories. Red dot or sights, holster, extra mags. And a light, if you want

One good option you can always do layaway at pretty much all your Gun stores and they all usually allow 90 day's on your layaway and most I've came across ask for 20% down so that's a thought for when someone is on a budget and maybe want to spend a little bit towards a good CCW

Boy I seem to be hurting the Glock fans feelings 🤣. Come out of the 1980's people 🤣. Since the 80s you got finger grooves that were added and removed, front serrations, ambi slide stop and an optic cut 🧐🙄 that's the improvement

400 or less seems fair to be called a budget gun. I got my S&W Shield plus 2.0 for like 300ish with a rebate. At the same time, I bought the Stoeger STR-9SC and paid 225 for that. Those were my ultimate cheap buys (brand new) that I like shooting.

@DatsJay556

So would a 43x qualify as a budget gun?

@fredted1611

$289.99 Taurus G2 at all the FFLs in my area. So I would say Taurus rules the Budget guns unless you want to go to a Hi-Point.

It really depends on money for features.

@ProperPaladin

Just curious are you going to do a video on how the prime compairs to the Shield Plus or other guns that have a reputation of being top-tier carry options?
