I am researching something and an adjunct question I have is why is it called the Babylonian exile of Judah and Benjamin traditionally? Why is the Assyrian captivity of the Northern tribes that preceded the Babylonian exile now referred to as the 'Lost 10 Tribes of Israel'? Pretty stupid once we think about Simeon is contained within Judah lest scripture defines it otherwise. Was Simeon in alliance with the Northern tribes? Provide biblical source(s) if so. Moreover, the Levites had no inherited land mass, Nu35:1-8, and makes sense most of them would have dwelt in the Judah region to have closer proximity to the temple as their priestly duties demanded. Thus, the Babylonian captivity ought to be of Judah, Benjamin, and Simeon (and Levi). Feel free to comment if you know something I don't or I am ignorant to. 8 vs. 4.
