What % of Grow A Garden players do you think are bots?

@patriarchstork9992

grow a garden is such a unique case to determine how many bot does it have. not only does it have free private server but it also doesnt require u to be in the game all the time to progress

@wojerd

what kind of game just instantly has 2 million players drop and then another 500k in the same 5 minutes without without the servers shutting down or whatever

@ActualZiudo

Reason why it's reaches these absurd player counts during updates is the devs usually give stuff away/do a lot of weather events. Which prompts people invite all of their alts in, bot owners to get all bots into the game, which boosts the player count

@GammaKamui

Whatever the reason may be, I assure you, Those 9M are NOT all individual players. And if somehow it was, that would just tell a lot about kids these days...

Okay let’s be real here, bots definitely exist in this game but compared to games like Pet Sim 99 in their prime I don’t think 75%+ of those people are bots. This game is simple, yes and on top of that there isn’t really any market/competition. Literally everyone can get these plants, pets and cosmetics for just playing the game a lot. If I had to guess, roughly 25-50% of the players are bots as A) the ban wave banned about 300k bots from the game, B) It’s the most popular game on Roblox so like of course, C) This game is a HUGE hit in Indonesia and the Philippines so its very likely a lot of those people living in those countries are using bot accounts. However there are indeed genuine people playing the game, either out of boredom or anticipation for the next update. When the update was close to release, 25 of my friends were playing Grow A Garden at the same time which is insane. A lot of people are neglecting KreekCraft’s point of that this game is so simple, where even 4 year olds can understand the concept of the game. You plant seed, you sell seed, you buy seed. That is so darn simple and alongside other smart strategies this game uses like restocking the shop every 5 minutes or having tools that can speed up plant growth, a lot of kids would be hooked onto this game. In conclusion, I personally think that there are some bots in the game (25-50%) but it is overweighed by the AFK people and people who just want to play the game. Logically speaking, there simply CANNOT be more than 7 million bots invading the game at the same time, especially when people exaggerate the dip of players after the last update saying ‘3 million players left at the same time’ which didn’t happen, it was a gradual decrease to 6 million then another decrease back to 1-3 million. Feel free to criticise my points, but a lot of you have been just saying outright nonsense because Grow A Garden doesnt have so many bots. There’s no competition, no exclusive currency, nothing. This ain’t Pet Sim 99 and I hope it doesn’t turn into it. Edit: The replies and comments have genuinely been very helpful, and there are a few points that people did make that are valid. Grow A Garden is a very weird case of a popular game because private servers are free so we have no idea how many bots there truly are in the game if they are hiding in said private servers. However that’s not to say that it is an excuse to overexaggerate the number of bots in the game because again to put it simply, there cannot be that many bots at the same time during the anticipation for the next update, logically speaking. However that is just pure speculation ASSUMING that there isn’t some underground network of bots ran by people from Indonesia or the Philippines. The only way to get a rough estimate was from the ban wave that happened recently, in which 300-500k players were banned from the game. It wasn’t a major dip from the total number of players therefore giving us a rough estimate of 10%-30% players based on the total number of players ranging from 1.5M - 3M. Now of course not all bots were banned but ASSUMING(speculating) that the majority was banned we can say THAT is the percentage. We to put it simply cannot accurately predict the number of bots because of these private servers being free but it is most likely that it is not that much compared to Pets Go / Pet Sim 99 in its prime. Thank you all, pretty helpful insight and a better understanding of this situation and tldr: we don’t know what the percentage is because we can’t accurately estimate it.

I think it's because it's such a just normal premise and it's weirdly addicting also a bunch of YouTubers cover it like Thinknoodles and kreek craft so now all the brain Rot kids are on it so I say 25%

How the fuck is this game popular how? HOW?

@VilactEats5SnicklesEveryDay

I joined a server with 4 default avatar users.. All of their gardens had a pile of crops on 1 side, and they would stand in the center of their garden collecting crops. Then they teleported to the sell area and sold everything, before repeating. It was terrifying how i was the only person with a heartbeat.

Honestly I started playing it (haven’t touched it in like a month or so cause I got everything within 2 days) while binging a show and I was in my own private server, had 0 clue it was even popular to begin with. I must’ve stopped when paywalls were added because it was just a chill game for me. Will say the first day was annoying because apparently my server was bugged out and didn’t spawn the item shop, so growing took ages.

I don’t know too much bout this game. However, it’s probably some kind of large bot farm. If there is any sort of trading or potential monetary gain, there will be bots.
