To be fair, as silly as that specific scenario is, from what you said, it sounds like they made an accurate prediction of presidents having to rely on executive orders to get things done as congress has deteriorated into dysfunction.

You can tell the uniparty exists when you can make a prediction about one party and in 10 years have it come true with the other

It was a time when people believed that Democrats were about to have a sort of Golden Age with presidential elections.

When you said that Churchill was you're hero when you were young it reminded me of my childhood hero. For me it was Carl Gustaf Emil Mannerheim his most famous quote was "Fortresses, cannons, and foreign aid will not help unless everyone knows that they are the guardians of their country." There's also a story about him smoking a cigarette while conversing with Adolf because he didn't like him and knew that he didn't like smoking. I don't know if that's true ore a myth though.

'Kanye' and 'authoritarian' oh boy... don't think he'd go the way the Atlantic intended for him to go.

Remember when Kanye walked out on Tim Pool's show in Nov 2022 over his (Ye's) anti-semitism, which made no sense at all. Nick Fuentes and Milo were with him and walked out too.

Eh. They flat out called it on the consolidation of Executive power. Donnie is hardly the first “Imperial Presidency” we’ve had, and I doubt the last. They seemed especially common in the 1800s (also when tariffs were stupidly high compared to now, oh and Trump actively idolizes many of these leaders like Jackson, Polk, and McKinley). It’s a very longstanding trend, able to have been spotted a mile away, that I remember even Bush and Obama heavily tried to move the needle towards. I fucking hated it then, and really fucking hate it now. As for President Yeezy….I wouldn’t even be surprised at this point. Strong, empowered black man, and all he has to do about the antisemitism is yell “Free Palestine!” At the end. Shit. He’s probably got it in the bag lmao.

I remember Al Gore predicting both coasts would be flooded by 2020. Of course that didn’t stop him & Obama from buying lots of beach mansions

In high school in 2016 I read the Atlantic magazine. It had as a hypothetical scenario “in 2026 when president Kanye under the democrats will run the country. Kanye will resort to more authoritarian methods to get another done versus the conservative controlled legislature. lol. Did not age well.
