Christian Dior

First evoked by Monsieur Dior himself in the early 1950s, the House and Japan share a devotion to things done the right way, from the #DiorSavoirFaire of the Paris ateliers to the traditional skills and aesthetics prized and perpetuated in the Land of the Rising Sun. In honoring that common legacy and enduring relationship, Maria Grazia Chiuri placed a great emphasis on the role of craftsmanship in the #DiorFall25 collection she unveiled in Kyoto, incorporating elements such as indigo dyeing, Japanese floral motifs as carefully placed prints and embroideries, hand-loomed brocades, kimono-inspired constructions, and much more. Check out some examples of these here, and see the finished collection by (re)watching the show youtube.com/live/dloTnEy_fLY.
