Shunks

Very happy to see the new Smurfs video doing so well! I know it's only because it's relevant, but it got me thinking about doing a video reviewing all the Alvin and the Chipmunks films. it could be fun, and I may or may not try to get a certain chipmunks superfan to be a guest star...

@dogenboole

I wasn’t allowed to watch the Chipmunks movies as a kid because my parents thought they were obnoxious. As an adult, I’ve come to realize that they were right.

Lemme tell ya watching the Chipmunk movies as a kid and not knowing who Matthew Grey Gubler was, then getting into Criminal Minds as an adult and hearing Simon the goddamn Chipmunk in that show was like getting hit with a jar of popcorn or whatever it was Alvin dropped on Jason Lee's head.

My history teacher on the last day of school played Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked for us with no prompting whatsoever. He didn’t say anything the whole time (which was weird for us because he was a very active teacher who always liked to talk with the other students) until the bell rang. Just thought I’d share this.

I know your Smurfs video only had theatrical movies but I feel like the Direct to DVD movies from 1999, 2000, & 2003 are also worth your time!!! Wolfman (2000) is my personal favorite of the franchise

@MediaIsMyPassion

As a kid, I used to LOVE the Alvin and the Chipmunks movies and I ended up seeing The Road Chip in Theaters (instead of The Force Awakens)

my friends and i got together to watch all of the chipmunks movies together a while back and references to those movies have become so engrained as jokes between us that i sometimes forget not everyone knows what all the chipettes are called

I am 38 years old, watched the original animated movie way back in my misspent youth... and recently actually watched the Chipmunk trilogy for my own reasons, and man, when I saw this post I felt so thrilled I'd actually be able to participate in a discussion only to find out there's a FOURTH live-action Chipmunk movie... so if I don't want to get spoiled, I guess I'll just have to dive into THAT one too.

I would like to see you review the three recent Smurfs platformers that are based on the show which are apparently very decent. They're based on the 2021 show which is already connected to The Lost Village in some way.

Unpopular Opinion: The movies were great and I genuinely enjoyed them, it feels and felt weird after they stopped doing them.
