3 months to the day. That's how long I was in hospital for, and that's how long I've had to count my blessings a thousand times over. It's safe to say, as you ALL know by now, that you are very much one or them.
I must thank you all again: one; for your patience as the recovery continues, two; for always support me with loving messages and commitment to the Snooze with Sam community, and three; just for being you, be that commenting, donating, listening, writing, emailing, or calling.
Much like the nurses who've looked after my livelihood since June, I will be indebted to you all for the rest of my life. Never have I known such compassion and empathy. For this, I cannot and will never be able to thank you enough. I love you all.
Friday marks the say when Christine and I have been able to resume our lives. 3 months apart has taken its toll on our minds and bodies. We're taking some time to regain clarity and look after ourselves. My guess is that I will be back to normal service by the beginning of October. I hope you all understand. ❤️
My injuries are still in a state of severe repair, but are stable enough for clinics and self care to do the ground work now. Still lots of drugs, still lots of pain, and still only able to bear weight on one very unstable ankle. 😅 but it's enough to get by on for now. One recovery chapter has hopefully come to an end, just as another begins. Navigating your own home in a different and challenging way makes the home less familiar: this will take time to accustom to.
I'm excited to start writing again, and have a good few ideas of what's to come!
At the same time, I would love to hear your suggestions and wishes for stories going forwards so please let me know even if the concept has been explored before: what are your faves, go-tos, or 'wish they were longer' type stories? 😁
Please comment all below!
I will miss a million things from my time in hospital, the wonderful staff being number 1 on that list. For now, though, I am truly grateful to be back in the arms of the most important people to me, in my home.
Never has making tea, cooking real food, or bathing in sunshine brought such a smile to my face. 😊
S & C xx
Should you feel like supporting us just now and for the coming year of inevitable recovery, which we have NO expectation of at all, then here are some ways you can do so. Thank you so very much.
