I lived in Hawaii since I was 6 (now 38). Growing up, seeing the occasional "vog" (volcanic fog) while on the freeway with almost zero visibility was within the norms of daily Oahu life. 😆

It's an active volcano and unlike Mt St Helens which is a stratovolcano which can lie dormant for hundreds of years. Kiluea is a shield type volcano. Yes I did use Google 🤣
