You can still tell the difference in a lot of cases. The Atlas Orions are great but they’re not on the same level as the Panavision anamorphics. Keep in mind for what kinds of budgets they’re made.

Arri Ultra Prime 8mm T2.0 Lens. No distortion, fast as heck, there’s nothing else like it. Beautiful lens

Cooke lenses worth every penny paired with Arri Alexa. I love how that glass render skin.

An Arri Trinity. I'm not a steadicam operator (yet), but if I got one I'd probably quit my job and spend all my time at home learning to use it. An Alexa 35, 65 or a Sony Venice would go with it quite nicely as second choices

If I won the lottery and got into filmmaking a bit more, I’d shoot on film instead of investing in a fully digital rig. I don’t know why, but I love the look of film and I like a challenge I guess.

An anamorphic lens and a camera that can work with an anamorphic lens, I just love the look of it

Aaah, that would be a full line-up of CN-E/XEEN lenses. Would I have some great camera to actually utilize it? Nope :-). Waiting for another lotter win then :-).

But if I'd won the lottery I'd probably buy a set of FF classics sigma, make a movie, maybe the zcam f6 pro. And a good amount of lighting

I'd send my FD lenses for a rehousing, get an FX6 (my go-to rental for filmmaking, I love it). And the most color accurate monitor ever.

Maaan a full set of rehoused super baltars and an Alexa Mini, i mean if i only got one of those i would be more than happy but also i wouldnt really be able to take advantage of it

I think I would buy a motorized camera slider, like the Rhino Camera Slider with the motorized head, or the Eldokrone motorized jib? That or a comprehensive kit of 32 bit audio recorders and professional microphones. However, I find that the more expensive something is, the more people you would need to operate it. Sometimes the cheaper product is the better option, especially if you’re working solo! I would prefer getting a smaller gimbal where I could mount smaller cameras and lenses vs getting a full frame camera with more expensive lenses which would need a bigger gimbal which will end up being heavier.

For me they’re Canon EOS R and Sirui’s new 2000$ 1.6x full frame anamorphic lens. I have an EOS RP and I would like to try shooting in log, but I don’t have that much time to spend color grading anyway so the RP is pretty good already. These are not super expensive gear but I don’t need them but would buy then if I won the lottery.

Everything is too expensive. We always have to make compromises. Camera, lenses, follow focus, monitor, dolly and rails, gimbal/steady cam, drone, techno crane. Same thing with good technicians. Hard to find good talented collaborators. Nothing is easy in filmmaking if you wanna make a professional looking film. Personnaly, I dont like hand held camera style of shooting. I would almost always shoot my films on a dolly if I had the money and the resources.

Arri Alexa 65, pretty sure you can only rent it though so that may get in the way

what's a lovely bit of camera gear you'd only buy if you won the lottery? (I'm asking for a video that I'm working on). I'll start: to me, this looks incredible but over-priced:
