This is disappointing 💔💔 Trey Songz has the most unique & expansive musicality I've seen. He can write across multiple genres & give innovative sounds in the music. He raps, sings contemporary R&B, hip hop, old school R&B, soul, blues if he tries, Jazz, and unconventional sounds - like with the song called "Blind". He also has a voice that is PEERLESS. His "Life on Mars" cover? It was the greatest cover I have ever heard. He is exceptionally gifted & talented. But his recent music, doesn't change nobodys life 💔💔 As an OG African fan, who saw him as the example from My Moment episodes when I was younger, he gave the impression that he wants to make music that changes people's lives. The music since 2017 doesn't speak to that at all. I lost the connection to the music at that time 💔💔 I even had to unfollow my own role model (he showed us that we should find a dream & fight for a dream regardless of where we come from)!! This is not the innovative sounds, lyrically rich, vocally expressive & "creating the flow of how things should go" music that he is capable of making (ref to Trigga & previous albums & mixtapes). This is not listener-focused neither is he talking to OG fans in the music. I will always appreciate "love safari" & his unique musicality & once in a lifetime voice.
