Interesting! Who voted for this? Who approved? When? Where? Right before the admin change too!

@CherryPauper

Pay should be DECREASED. As if insider trading and campaign donations weren't enough.

@DOHCtorJ

Imagine if we could vote ourselves a raise, especially when our approval rating was horrible and we didn't do anything productive

@beardedwolf628

Over 40% raise. I wish I got that, would cover about a quarter of the inflation the past 4 years.

@blaisestritt8177

if they made this amount of money and didn’t do insider trading and back door deals than it would be fine, but that is a fantasy, at least in America. In Singapore their politicians are extremely well compensated, but any sort of corruption is punished extremely hard.

@Misn311

Imagine you’re working for a company, which is currently in debt and keep losing money. And instead of getting fired, job cut, you get pay raise.

@PewciSlayer

A rough 40% increase in their pay while the rest of us barely get a 3% annual raise. If we want congress to work, get them paid hourly minimum wage.

I love how 243k is still ludicrously tiny compared to how much all of these de facto aristocrats are getting under the table

@konan3792

Absolutely crazy that they believe they deserve a 40% increase to their income...

@edwinarroyo2485

Why would a millionaire need a raise?

@mohamedbenmansour5184

The audacity of these politicians never fails to amaze me. If the economy had been doing great last few years maybe people wouldn’t mind. But when you got a housing sector, healthcare and education system, etc that are crumbling in real time. Not to mention the growing number of people who can’t even afford groceries despite working full time. They should be cutting the salaries of those in public office not increasing them. Shameless creatures.

@JuanCarlosbarquero-f3e

Latest Gallup poll: approval of Congress is at near low of 19%, with disapproval above 70%. So, Congress gives itself a raise? This is called "democracy"?

Trump needs to remove Johnson immediately, all operatives must be primaried and shown the door as soon as possible.

@RHR52

Interesting that they do it right before Mr Musk starts the DOGE.

@fullyfb3847

They should get a raise. I support it, but only if they go to prison for insider trading and corruption. Oh no, we lost them all guys 😅

@brett.unbound

I actually agree with this. Let’s pay Congress well to reduce their reliance on corporate dollars.

@chriscampbell3417

What a load of crap! Like they deserve a 40% pay raise!

@MegaTeeruk

It was actually removed from the approved bill. There was no pay raise.
