Stobie pole in SA, but that specifically means the conctete and steel I-beam poles invented by the engineer James Cyril Stobie, because SA didn't have enough appropriate timber for the wooden ones.

Belgium (from Hobart). I think it was usually sold as Devon in supermarkets though.

I don't know any other name in English so I defaulted to what I'd call it in Spanish Chopped (or chóped)

@VeganParrots

No idea, I've been Vegan and previously Vegetarian most of my life but I grew up in SA and remember people saying Fritz on Kangaroo Island and in Adelaide.

@inept_

Fritz!!! Also, I love how this question has way more interaction in the comments than the previous ones. You hit a controversial topic here

Devon is over east, Polony is west

If you want passion and controversy, try asking what battered, deep fried rounds of potato are called. ; )

Grew up in Sydney calling it devon, but here in SA, I've gotten used to it being called fritz - especially with how many folks are nostalgic about "smiley fritz".

@thomasmitchell551

Here in Adelaide, we call them Fritz. However, that might just be the smiley-face version. Don't know if it's a state-wide thing or just limited to Adelaide though

@RockyJoCopper-b1g

Back in 80s Tasmania (not saying which part), my mother and everyone apparently used to call it "German". Nowadays, it seems we'd all just call it Devon (or Luncheon), though I never had it, nor had I even heard of it until just now, so I can't say what I would have personally called it apart from "disgustingly processed retro-meat"
