How to properly light a cathedral/vaulted ceiling. I know you've mentioned this before but it's worth revisiting, especially with the amount of vaulted ceilings in new construction these days.

How to light a long hallway. I’ve seen some suggestions to light one side of the wall, possibly alternating with each light. How to light the corners of a kitchen, one light in corner to two lights on each side close together. How to choose the size of recessed lights. Do you ever vary this per room or space? How to light a bedroom with recessed lights. How to light a dining room with recessed lights.

What type of recessed light is best to use ? I am currently working on adding recessed light to my newly renovated house. I don’t know what to shop for? How to add recessed lights to a coffered ceiling in living room? How add recessed lights to a bedrooms, kitchen and bathroom and hallways?

Recessed lights in kitchens! Should the lights relate to the work surfaces (resulting in the spacing appearing random) or should the lights be evenly spaced (resulting in work surfaces being unevenly illuminated). I’m leaning toward soffit lights related to work surfaces (plus under cabinet lights) and ceiling lights evenly spaced (but this will lead to uneven island illumination)

I'm gutting my kitchen. The kitchen is attached to our dining room where we spend most of our time (we can see the living room tv perfectly - it’s a great room). My living room has vaulted ceilings but my dining room and kitchen have lower ceilings. I’m wondering how I treat the lighting in the dining room? Do I do recessed lighting in the dining room and kitchen? Or should the dining room have a ceiling light. Or maybe the dining room should have both?
