From what I heard about this film, specifically about Godzilla being the central focus, it seems very unlikely for Kong to have a major role this time around, furthermore, you could argue that Kong's story has come full circle and is essentiallly complete. He literally has everything he was searching for, for so long, namely: a new expansive, resource-rich place to live, and a family, with an adopted son and Shimo to boot. Kong is literally complete, anything he does now would just be a bonus at this point, so in my opinion, at this point in time, it would be fitting for him to have a supporting role, since his main story role is finished.

theres no point for him to be lead role again. his story arc is wrapped up and he is nowhere near as powerful as godzilla to even need equal/more screentime, especially in the final battle. maybe if he unlocks new abilities he'd get more, but i dont see that happening. no hate btw im basing this off of what the audience demands, which is more focus on monsters fighting and less on storyline.

I wish MV Godzilla would return to what made him such an iconic version of the character in the first place; the stoic, mighty protector of balance that we had in 2014 and kotm. Now he’s just a raging, tyrannical A-hole that kills any monster for the crime of breathing. I think Adam Wingard is mostly to blame for this. He completely fumbled Godzilla’s character in GvK and GxK.

Im gonna cry if Kong has a big part in this movie. Also I just hate how Wingard nerfs Godzilla a lot and just generally how he potrays Godzilla. KOTM was the best.

I see Kong getting no less than an equal role to Godzilla. Casuals like him more than Godzilla, he's had so much character development, AND is more versatile with sharing emotions. It sucks but it's the truth. Godzilla got done the worst for six years straight and it would take serious effort from the director to revamp Godzillas character.
