You’ve obviously made a lot of pottery over the years and have a good bit of experience. Is there a particular piece that you still find struggle with? A piece that you really don’t like to make? Something you currently make that you are just sick to death of, but customers love it and keep buying it? Your favorite thing to make?

how did you get started with pottery and when did you feel confident enough to do it full time?

How did you develop a distinctive personal style in your work? I’m an intermediate potter, reasonably competent at throwing and hand building, but I really struggle to move away from just riffing on what others have done and towards something that feels like a distinctive style of my own. There is so much content out there and I love a lot of totally divergent styles, such that I feel a bit overwhelmed and end up playing around with lots of different stylistic choices but it feels very disjointed and unsatisfying. Is there a practice or method you would recommend for trying to build/discover my own style?

Top tips on how to elevate your throwing. Like, obviously, you have to practice, but what are some techniques to focus on/ where did you see you made a noticable step up in what you can throw?

Hi Lily! I love your content, so helpful as a beginner potter. I was just curious about ceramic bakeware, do you ever dabble? Perhaps a muffin tin or baking dish? Would something like that require a special glaze or clay body? Also, would you ever bring your cat(s) to your studio? :) I love your book and have pre-ordered your next!! Thank you for being you!

Are there any tools you thought you would like but ended up disliking them? And would you consider doing kiln unloading videos in the future? Thank you for sharing your art and skills with the world!

Hi Lily .. I live in Greece and have been doing pottery in a community studio/school for some time. I have a small place which I would like to turn into a studio Right now the only available wheels are shimpo in Greece. I am thinking of Shimpo RK3E. Would you invest in a more sturdy wheel like this one or rather get a cheaper model like RK55? I will not buy a kiln but will fire elsewhere. Any tips on carrying the glazed pieces to a firing location without messing them up? Lastly Could you recommend any books or sources for preparing glazes Sorry for shooting many questions ☺️

Do you rent out your kiln for people in London? Or how can we find affordable kiln places if I’m not ready to invest in one just yet

Hey from Brazil! So, from what I see of your work, your preference seems to be working on the potter’s wheel. I would like to know why this is your choice and what you think about the other production methods, like slip casting and the handbuilding techniques. Thank you!

Where can I get good bats (my wheel doesn’t have pin holes)? I need some good recommendations of suppliers that ship to Canada!

I'm fascinated. In real terms, how are you finding social media as an aspect and driver of your business? One a seperate track I imagine that engaging with an audience has its rewards and validation (and the feels of validation in creative industries is important and complex for morale). It also obviously comes with a storm of trash troll feedback, but that's not really my question. As a business, a worker, balancing costs and benefits with hours doing clay, and hours doing communication, how are you finding it? I'm a professional woodcarver and cabinetmaker with a job. I also live on YouTube the rest of the time. I see the balance of the two jobs you're doing. I love how you share your world and your skill. I am grateful. It is nice. "I'd love to hear how you are finding the two jobs of doing the thing, and communicating the thing, as a business." That's the question. Lots of love.
