It’s been most of a year since I posted last, just a little more since Forever Amen, and I don’t apologize for that. We haven’t wanted to miss what The Lord was desiring of us, tangled up in social media, distracted by all the shouting, only to find we’d missed the whisper of God waiting for us in quiet and communion. We’re doing our best to be still and know Him as He specifically leads our little family.
We’ve been in a very sacred season with The Lord, our family, and our church family… Even in layers of grief, we have been met by the indescribable Glory of Jesus… Words fail.
I am quite confident as I type, that many of you have suffered much, and we have been praying with you and for all those who are in agony around the world. That Jesus would be our everything, our All In All. There is no other source, no other name by which we can be saved. EVERY other well runs dry. We ALL so desperately need Jesus.
Since my Daddy went to Glory to be with The One He loves, the worship that’s welled up in my heart and soul comes out mostly in the songs I learned as a little girl. Songs we sang around the piano at home and at church in corporate worship... Songs Daddy would sing out in prayer or in deliverance sessions as we watched the bound go gloriously free. Songs that have always helped me turn my eyes upon Jesus. I didn’t write a single one of them. They’re a gift from the mothers and fathers who went before us. Songs that are tried and true. Many of them straight from The Word Of God.
So… this is me poking out my head and my heart for the next couple of weeks (as little and as briefly as possible) to share some of the story that led to this recording. I look forward to sharing Faith Of My Father with you.
