135 years ago is really not a long time ago I met my grandmother just 84 years after that picture was taken. I’m mixed race of Jamaican origin, but I could see West Africa written all over her. Just like that woman in that old picture. That’s some precious golden African blood running through my veins, the blood of legendary survivors, Im so proud.

No one has ever asked to be born. The daughter, in teaching her mother how to read, is blessing her mother with the blessing she has received. It is an act of benevolence and generosity. Since generosity in its etymology means to build a link among humankind.

Teaching her MOM to read from a book that was not their language. Our oeople spoke a different language. I mean no disrespect, but we know that our people came from the continent of Africa and garbage language English is the colonizers' language, not OURS. WHY DO OUR PEOPLE CONTINUE TO SAY WHAT THE colonizers LIED ON ABOUT US! OUR PEOPLE KNEW HOW TO READ IN THEIR LANGUAGE!! They we're Teachers, Boulders, Doctors, Surgeon, Nurse, scientists, INVENTORS and the lust is enlist. We must speak & write the truth, not the lies of these EVIL COLONIZERS.
