Authenticity - it’s something we all strive for, but what does it really mean? Is it about staying true to who we are at all times, or is it something that evolves?
The truth is, authenticity isn’t *one size fits all.* We all show up in different ways - some of us are bold and outspoken, others are more reserved. Some people thrive in structure, while others find their flow in spontaneity. And yet, we’re often told there’s a “right” way to be a leader, an entrepreneur, or a professional. But is trying to fit into a mold the opposite of being authentic?
What I’ve learned is that authenticity isn’t about staying the same - it’s about aligning who you are with who you *need* to be. Here are a few things that have helped me:
✅ Surround yourself with the right people – The people in your circle can either bring out your true self or make you feel like you have to perform. Choose wisely.
✅ Give yourself permission to evolve – Who you were at 23, 30, or 40 isn’t who you are today. Growth isn’t inauthentic - it’s necessary.
✅ Define authenticity on your own terms – Instead of chasing a version of "realness" that others expect, ask yourself: What feels true to me?
So, here’s my question: Do you think authenticity is something we discover over time, or is it always shaped by our environment?
