Yes Chinese Malaysians are very passionate and patriotic about China. Though we left China few generations ago mostly during Japanese occupation of our motherland we never forget our roots and culture. Some of us can't even read Chinese, but our hearts are fully Chinese, unlike some traitors and successionists in Taiwan who work with foreign powers who had subjugated and humiliated our ancestors. 🇨

Dear Jingjing, you must come to visit Kuching , Sarawak on the island of Borneo. The region of Sarawak and Sabah, known as East Malaysia, are located on the island of Borneo. Your experiences in Sarawak will be very different from West Malaysia. This is because Sarawak is a very harmonious region, free of the religious and racial tensions. The population here are mainly Christians and many still live in their traditional homes in Longhouses. The racial composition of people in East Malaysia are different from West Malaysia. Here you will be able to experience various ethnic cultures, traditions and practices not found in other regions of Malaysia. Sarawak is also reputed for excellent Chinese food ( Chinese comprise about 30% of the population ) and genuine Native foods, eg Jungle Ferns and chicken cooked in Bamboo. You can taste one of the best and most expensive fresh water fish in the world, known as Empurau Sarawak is also globally known for the annual Rainforest Music Festival which is attended by thousands of Music lovers worldwide. Welcome to Kuching , Sarawak, Malaysia Blessings 🕊️🕊️🕊️ Your loving and earnestly awaiting f

I understand that President Xi JinPing is coming to Malaysia and be will be going to Cambodia and Vietnam too. So your trip to Malaysia will be a short trip, probably just Kuala Lumpur only to cover journalism on his Malaysia trip. As such, I recommend a few touristy places. You can go to Petronas Twin Tower, Central Market, Petaling Street (Malaysia's China Town), Jalan Alor Food Street, National Mosque, Batu Caves, Thean Hou Chinese Temple, Pavilion KL, Bintang, KL Tower, Dataran Merdeka, Sultan Abdul Samad Building. These are just a few places in KL. Please Google on these places for more details. Make sure that you take nasi lemak, teh tarik and satay. Nasi lemak is Malaysia's national dish. Another dish that you shouldn't miss is Bah Kut Teh, a Chinese dish filled with pork and medicinal soup. There are wet and dry versions. Don't miss durians too - mau sang wang (musang king), hoong ha, chuk kiok, the more popular durians in Malaysia. Try out Malay, Indian and Chinese foods. That's all I can think of at the moment. Have a great time when you're in Malaysia. BTW, install Grab app. It's similar to Didi in China.

Hi Jing Jing, I'm a Chinese Malaysian of Hokkien Fujian dialect. China's Taiwan people speak the same dialect, but we're smarter here. You should start with the capital city Kuala Lumpur where the ethnicity mix is more representative of Malaysia. Penang and Malacca are places you must not miss. Penang (especially on the Island) has majority Chinese. It's a food paradise with many nice hawker food. Penang is a heritage city and some colonial sites are preserved. It has the most semiconductor factories in Malaysia, Malacca (Melaka) was a busy port and China sailed down to trade, mixed with the local Malays and many intermarriage - the Malay-Chinese offsprings called Nyonya and having their unique culture and food. Unlike China who just wanted to trade, it Portuguese, Dutch and British came to colonise Melaka. There are other places if you have the time. As for cool people, I think my mum is the coolest LOL 😆

Your embassy in Kuala Lumpur should be able to provide more information on your interest. Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Malacca would be places of interest to cover what you are looking for in Malaysia. Indeed Malaysia a food paradise, from eastern to western at very affordable prices similar to that of say Guangzhou.
