Konnichiwa T2! I just love your channel. Reminds me of the good old days. Came here to Japan 36 years ago, loved it and never left.

They were great videos! I'm a huge fan of city pop and Japanese music! My wife and I are obsessed with Tatsuro Yamashita and are really hoping for a video of him and his huge influence on the genres. A deep dive into his catalogue reveals so many amazing tunes. Cheers and cant wait for more!

Your video essay brought me to the Casiopea universe (including the band members’ solo works.) It is the storytelling and the aesthetics (smooth and pleasing) of your work that make this happened. Subscribed!

I was really surprised to see how low the subscriber count was even though your content is so good (even the older videos are great)

Really liked your style of videos mate! You put an immense amount of effort in them and it shows! Also those videos hit the mark for me as I've been a fan of most of the music you've mentioned, including video game soundtracks😅 Patiently waiting for future works! Keep it up!

Saw and loved the video on casiopea. Jazz has always been a gene that I could come back to and just enjoy no matter what I’m doing. I wanted to write this to thank you for showing me another amazing band and to hopefully spread another gem that I have found in the YouTube algorithm. Soil & “pimp” sessions has quickly become one of my favorite jazz bands in recent time and I would love to see more people check them out.

I'm glad I found your channel man! A lot of good content besides music (though it is a huge part of my interest). Surprised you haven't gotten much attention sooner

I am so excited to hear that you are going to continue making these videos. They are some of the greatest artist reviews I've seen. Keep up the great work. I've been spreading your videos around the internet. BTW I hope you'll do a video on Tatsuro Yamashita! He is one of my favorite artist of all time. I'm actually trying my best to see one of his shows later this year (a life goal for me). It is a difficult process though as a foreigner not living in Japan.

Since we're here, I'd recommend to check out Taeko Onhuki and Lamp by the way, for who hasn't already After having fell well down into the japanese pop and jazz rabbit hole, these artists are between the ones that I loved the most The first is mainly a city-pop singer, while the second is a contemporary jazz-pop band If someone is interested I'll leave some recommendations

It would be awesome to watch a video about Takako Mamiya and her wonderful Love trip album.

I'd love a video about Toshifumi Hinata or maybe something like a deep dive into T-Square.

Hello new followers! ˙ ͜ʟ˙
A lot of you arrived from my Takanaka or Casiopea video. Thank you so much for clicking that "Subscribe" button! I'm sure you're eager to see more video essays in the "Japanese Music Discoveries" series. These videos take a lot of time to make, so thanks for being patient. I'm planning on releasing the next video in the series sometime later this year. Meanwhile, I'll upload shorter videos covering other topics. Hope you stick around and thanks for the support!
