I like the banded iron shield, or both iron and steel shields. Makes me feel like a NPC and a true villager of skyrim lol

Nordic but I'd also say Stahlrim as a close second they just look the most practical and utilitarian and I like that in a shield

The targe of the blooded is one of my favorite shields because it’s one of unique shields ever made and I wish I could rename it the Charge’n Targe which is a tf2 reference

Ysgramors shield is pretty cool, its interesting theres no ancient nord shield other than that one but at some point during special edition or AE they added ancient nord maces, warhammers, and daggers

I feel like the classic dwemmer design really holds back the Aetherial Shield; if the design had been more unique I feel like it would be an easy pick

My favourite looking is the heavy dragon born shield. You can really tell it's just a dragon's sternum fashioned into a shield. I also like the bandid shield. Spell breaker is stunning however

Stahlrim shield would be my go-to. Simple, there is no need to add decorative pieces adding weight, plus those divets on the edges are good for spears or other thrusting weapons. A good defense makes a good offense as some say.

Funny how Stahlrim is the most plausible material here but looks and would function the most like an actual shield.

The Nordic stuff looks pretty cool. Especially the armor on Khajiit. Stalhrim looks nice too but my only gripe with the shield is that it only comes in light armor and doesn't have a heavy variant.
