No matter the history behind a record, I believe it’s the sonic/quality and most likely the way it will appeal or compliment other sound to form a new music is what influences samples the most rather than the story behind the record.

Definitely adds another layer of depth to your music. Sampling a song with the same message your trying to convey through your song is a great extra step to making a track that bit better

the context behind a sampled track can make it a really genius move to sample it if it lines up just right

sampling is an art form, done properly you wont even know something's been sampled! (ie Old Town Road)

Definitely, this is why Ye is the GOAT, the samples always have a meaning

The cover always grabbed my attention, I always look for more open groves on the record.

Hello, can you please help me find the sampled track on the song "waited" by Biz and Hambeats. I DM the artists on their FB page 2 yrs ago, the msg was seen but nil reply. I asked again and was left hanging. I think it's Bulgarian but Biz and Hambeats are Russian muslims so it could be a islamic sample (Biz has a few other tracks with those).

Hey, do you think knowing the story behind a record can make it more intriguing to sample?
