Ayanokoji imo, he was trained to be good in several areas, be it mathematics, chess or even hand-to-hand combat where he was trained with several martial arts, in addition he was considered the best of WR exceeding the human limit and reaching a superhuman level in terms of curriculum, L is very good too, but I believe that Ayanokoji defines this concept better

@Lloyaro

Kiyotaka. Mainly because L's skills and development are innate. Not to say Kiyotaka doesn't have talent, but rather he was born into the WR and became it's "masterpiece". L developed quite independently of WH. So he doesn't even qualify as a "masterpiece" imo.

@TZILLAMACK

I can’t believe ayanokoji and L were blood brothers and they were both the bay harbor butcher all along.

Takuya is the master piece of Whammy's house and BB is Masterpiece of whiteroom

@chenhify

Both of them never wanted to be a "Masterpiece"

@ChouMajin--

Ayanokoji, because the white room is actually what crafted him into perfection thus making him an actual masterpiece, whereas everyone in whammy’s house was already talented

Koji literally mastered every subjects, chess and every martial arts, far succeeding the human limits and even those in WR beside him. Still L is very good tho.

@NotActuallyJohn

A masterpiece would have to be one of the best in everything, and I don't think anyone genuinely thinks L is anywhere near ayanokoji in physical capabilities

A highschool kid controlling a school vs a world class detective with top 3 being himself.

Koji,L was always a genius,the orphanage just helped him better his skills,Koji was supposed to be a avg kid,but WR made him what he is today,without the WR,he would just be avg

@Astralyon1234

Ayanokoji Far more well rounded and also narratively the greatest human oat (masterpiece of the human race)

@bacchadumII

Koji. All of his immaculate skills in various areas are shown like intellect and physical. While L mainly showed intellect (Of which Koji shows similar if not greater levels assuming it’s not CTW L) . This makes Koji more of a well-rounded Masterpiece imo.

@Manual113

Definitely Ayanokouji, LN does a much better job at hyping up Koji as the masterpiece

@icnav

Koji obviously

@Ashile-b5y

Ayanokoji in my opinion because he's both trained physically and mentally

Whether it's each in their own verse or in direct comparison, Koji definitely takes this title. The gap between him and the other whiteroomers is staggering, and while L's adaptability is greatly underestimated, Ayanokoji gaps him comfortably in this. CTW L would be much more interesting for comparison.

I don't really see L as the WH masterpiece as he was only taken in because of how he developed independently, Koji on the other hand was born and completely raised in the WR. It's also important to note this isn't an outsmarting comparison, so I wouldn't even say CTW L is a better depiction. I just don't see L as a depiction of the masterpiece, especially not compared to a character who's entire thing is being an artificial masterpiece.
