I was in a relationship with a narcissist for 3 years. 6 months before we broke up, I started researching and learning about narcissism in depth to the point where his actions became almost predictable. Since I no longer wanted to be with him (and he still lived in my home), I spent countless nights studying videos, reading articles, and learning everything I could. He finally moved out after I blocked him on all social media. I also suspect he already had a โ€œnew supply,โ€ which made it easier for him to go. After the breakup, I decided to only keep in contact with one person, someone I thought would be low pressure and safe. At first, I noticed similarities between him and my ex, but the more time we spent together, the more my body began reacting with that same quiet anxiety I remembered. Thatโ€™s when I started to study and observe him. I realized both men wanted me to take on a motherly role, both love bombed (though one was more materialistic), and both complimented me like crazy. Like I was the best person on earth!!! They put me on a crazy high pedestal! Now, with awareness and emotional distance, I observe instead of becoming attached or sucked in! Itโ€™s helping me understand the patterns on a deeper level because never again will I be in a relationship with a narcissist!!

Emotionally meshing like the lizards. I just spoke to one and found out they truly need gateway moments to be convincing enough. Otherwise, people need to be psychologically inhumane if they don't want to be manipulated.

Hearing your ex narc explain to you they understand love bombing and devaluing etc at the same time excusing minimising justifying their horrific abuse to you is mind blowing lol.
