Apologies for the unannounced hiatus-- I didn't intend to take most of the month of June off, but I've had a busy month with irl company over. I was hoping to get back into making videos last week, but one of the kitties broke headphones right before I sat down to record, and while I've got new ones now, I'm also in the thick of working on some special projects behind the scenes that are taking up a lot of my time. Because of all of that, I'll most likely be back to making videos properly in July.
That said, since much of the mischief I deal with on the regular is now related to the creature squad often lovingly dubbed "the zoo", I think it's high time I introduce them properly. If you've been keeping a close eye on my latest videos, you may have seen a couple pics of some of them already, but just in case, here's a few more.
Kitty duo Lupin (gray) and Luna (black & white) are my near-constant office companions, hanging out with me as I work. Lupin, the shyer of the two, is usually content to sleep and keep watch on the outside world-- she often lets me know when I have packages or visitors arriving. She serves as my little gray shadow, often trailing me throughout the house to see what I'm up to. Luna, however, is a little more inclined to lend a "helping" paw-- with or without my invitation. She announces her arrival with musical little chirps, although these are just as likely to precede an act of mischief! Though they sometimes have their share of spats, this duo is practically inseparable, and where one goes the other is typically not far away.
This unlikely menagerie has a third and final member, too-- rowdy adolescent pup Ava. This chaotic little gremlin enjoys spending her days playing tug-o-war, ball, and eating bugs and dandelions out of the yard. She's the only dog I've ever known who loafs like a cat, but whether she picked up the habit from her feline sisters or just came special is anyone's guess. Although she's growing and learning quickly, she often does feel the need to be involved in whatever I'm doing, so don't be surprised if you hear her making an occasional guest appearance in the background of my videos if she decides she needs to be heard!
This trio has been keeping me busy for most of the past few months-- especially since I got Ava as a pretty young pup-- and it's definitely taken us all time to find a good rhythm. It's safe to say my life has gotten a whole lot crazier now, but I wouldn't trade it for the world. The start of this year was definitely challenging, and not a day goes by when I don't still miss Evvie, but I'm starting to feel like I can breathe again and find the joy in this new season of life too. It's been a heck of a year and we're only halfway through, but I'm looking forward to seeing what new adventures it brings. And, I'm excited to reveal that a few of the things I'm working on behind the scenes are nearing completion. I'm looking forward to getting to share them more here soon!
