Hereโs whatโs changing ๐
โ Work while you study โ Eligible student visa holders can now work up to 25 hours per week (previously 20).
โ Work rights for Exchange/Study Abroad students โ More flexibility, more opportunity!
โ Short-term post-study work visa under review โ A new 6-month visa is being explored for those who don't immediately qualify for AEWV.
โ Enrolment goals โ Targeting growth from 83,700 students in 2024 to 119,000 by 2034.
๐ธ In 2024 alone, international education contributed $3.6 billion to the NZ economy, with students spending on average $45,000 per year.
๐ Awareness of NZ as a top study destination is set to rise from 38% in 2024 to 44% by 2034.
