Not a doubt in my mind. Stage 4 nasopharyngeal cancer, found I lack the enzymes to metabolize synthetic opiods. It took way too long to figure that out. I was in ICU with radiation burns from the shoulders up, and all in my mouth and throat. I hadn't slept in days due to the pain and I finally cried out to God for relief. I begged Him to just let me die right then and there as I couldn't take the pain anymore. I hadn't eaten in weeks and it was pure misery I wouldn't wish on anyone. Gradually, the dark room with the only light being the lights on the machines and monitors, and only sounds being their rhythmic beeping, the room slowly faded to a golden shimmer and the beeping machines slowly became the most comforting angelic sounding song that I can only describe as almost a lullaby. The pain eased up and I was finally able to sleep. The only meds I was on was antinausea meds and steroids.
