The fact they reopened when they hadn’t even found all the little girls is diabolical

Note to self: don’t build your cabin 3ft from the river

The town, the officials, they knew the night before and had a detailed Emergency Operations Plan of what to do next. Part of that was to warn everyone.

It was built in the FLOOD PLAIN, more than just the counselors should be held accountable. THE CITY KNEW THE DANGERS & ALLOWED IT!!!

rightfully so. they didn't even check their phones, when the girls cabins were already flooding, they told them to go back to sleep and not to worry, and to pray! they could have been saved, they were worried, they wanted to leave, but they made them stay, that's more than negligence

I think that's a good idea. I heard something about the camp owners trying to get permitted or something to re open that camp and was horrified that they plan to risk children's lives again. It should be torn down and turned into a memorial or such.

Kinda funny how little Americans care about what happens to children. How many school shootings this year? Nobody cared about these girls too.

Why would you build a camp ground in a very flood prone area lmao

Weren't the youngest kids housed closest to the river?

A Christian camp too. Filled with self absorbed people that cared about $ and themselves. Sad

I think they definitely have a case! From the beginning of this tragedy I couldn't figure out why those girls weren't evacuated to higher ground 💔

any person with a flip comment here is a troll-pig. if families of dead drunks can sue bars/bartenders (and win) for serving their family member before they drove drunk... i mean, there is a long list of "are you kidding me" lawsuits that move forward so who can judge a family suffering this loss. the ultimate loss to a parent. sue the developer of the property, the manufacturer of the screws that held the cabin boards together... sue them ALL. the things i would do... may i never know.

My understanding was the local citizens voted down the upgraded siren warning system ...they chose lower taxes over , public safety measures . You get what you vote for !

COURT TV
Families of victims are suing #CampMystic, claiming the camp failed to protect 25 girls and 2 counselors as deadly floodwaters closed in on July 4.
The lawsuit says staff focused more on saving equipment while those closest to the river were left in their cabins, resulting in the 27 deaths.
