Reze arc is what you call "perfection" but I won't deny how good season 1 was to force me to go to the cinema hall

"Recency bias" comments are going nuts here. The show was excellent, no doubt, and the movie isn't blowing the show out of the water, but the movie is better in a lot of ways and it should be. The quality of the story is about the same, but movie had a much bigger budget, which means better production quality. The movies animation is fantastic, and it has not one but two songs from Kenshi Yonezu. The budget detail doesn't mean you can discount all the great things about the movie.

This is not a proper or fair comparison, season 1 is setting up the series. Reze's Arc is suppose to be better, it is expected. That said, Reze'd Arc is better.

I don't even get criticism around the first season. I was surprised it had that many haters at all when it was pretty good compared to other anime of its caliber.

Just saw the movie yesterday and damn I enjoyed it! Had to watch a season 1 recap before it, but this movie was really good. The music was beautiful, the action sequences were sometimes way too fast, but nicely done and Reze’s character design was awesome. I hope we’ll get some info about her connection to the Gun Devil in the next season. But it’s crazy how the first half of the movie was so pretty and then it just exploded. (pun intended)

The music sometimes felt a bit awkward in the scene it was in and the pool scene could have been slower to make it feel like a lingering feeling imo. I thought the «camera» was moving around a bit too fast but i guess thats intentional to make it feel like the rush of a first love. Just different from how i read the scene in the manga subjectively. So season 1 is better personally. But the movie is still a 9.8/10 for me. Think my experience was also made worse by the kids next to me who were just complaining the whole time about not enough action in the first half

Reze arc clears, I wasn’t a huge fun of chainsaw man before, but I am now🙏 so obsessed with the movie, I went back and saw it 2 more time

Not a fair comparison. Reze arc is one of my fav arcs in all of manga, with a movie budget. I really like season 1 of chainsaw man, but in my opinion, chainsaw man just keeps getting better throughout part 1, with one of the high watermarks being the reze arc.
