I think the idea is that in most sports it’s better to spend the technique training time training technique for the sport rather than the lift. Especially if there’s alternative exercises that can have the same result.

You can still work hard without teaching how to clean or snatch. At the end of the day exercises are just tool to get the adaptations that we want.

As someone who trained hang cleans I can attest to there benefit. As someone who also trained track I can say nothing gets you faster than learning how to run faster. Olympic lifts take a lot of time to learn. Plyo’s, sprints and Kb swings do not
