I remember reading about a port of the first game to the TurboGrafx-16 in some gaming magazine when I was little more than a wee babby. The article told tales of a version of the game that would make use of the system's ability to display a wider spectrum of colors onscreen at any given moment than the NES could. The result of which would of course be a livelier, more visually appealing experience than the original. But alas...the opportunity to play this port was never to arise. 'Tis merely a thing that I know exists, but little else about.

The Game Gear version's sprites look a lot like Strider, especially with the lean while running. Also, I owned the Game Boy game and yeah, it was pretty decent as it went and got beaten a lot of times. I was shocked when my skills on that didn't translate well to beating any of the big brothers.
