Petite Dressing

Height is just a number-how you style it is EVERYTHING. I'm 5'2"- let's understand why the before and after make such a big difference!

❌ Don't wear a coat much shorter than your skirt and pair with booties
❌ It divides your body at multiple places- big NO NO for petites
✅ Do wear a coat long enough to cover your skirt
✅ It eliminates the division of your body and creates a much more flattering proportion

@tradnwal

I love these side by side photos with X and checks with notes as a teaching tool, thanks Chi! Very helpful and teaches outfit theory, which I desperately need.

@MillennialBabaWarning

It looks good, but it practically means to only wear short skirts and that is not always appropriate for the weather or the occasion

I have such a hard time finding long boots. I’m 5’. They’re either too long or they don’t fit around my calf

The second look is great and suitable for my body, but I like the first look too. I like how the long skirt peek out from the coat. It really is difficult when you like the style but it's difficult to wear it in your body🥲

The first look would be perfect I think without the ankle boots.

Height yes but weight and build too. When I was younger (before menopause) and wearing a size 4 I could rock most any style. Now I have so much fat around my middle all I can wear are lose hanging tops to cover it. Had a closet full of the cutest clothes and in 6 months couldn't wear any of it even though my weight hadn't changed. Bummer.

Is there anyway we can wear long flowy boho style skirts? I absolutely love them but I feel even shorter... I'm 5,4" with wide hips 😊 I'd love to get tips, thank you

You know who always gets the coat right is Princess Kate. She has the greatest collection of long wool coats. The problem is, manufacturers make these coats a middle length so out of proportion if u r short and then too short if u r tall. Have not figured out what to do other than hem my skirts.
