Yesterday evening in Louisville, a UPS MD-11 freighter suffered a horrific crash immediately after takeoff, unfortunately taking the lives of 9 souls, including all crew members of the Honolulu-bound cargo flight. The picture you see below is the exact MD-11 that we saw just yesterday burst up into flames, just months prior to the accident. The photo was not taken by me, but by my friend @RandomEebsAviation at Chicago O’Hare Int’l.
While it is difficult to see such a beloved and historic plane go, it is all the more challenging to comprehend the deaths caused by this tragedy. May all our sincerest condolences go out to those closely effect by this horrid event.
