Pyotr Kurzin | Geopolitics

Some (unlikely many) of you were keen to know when part 2 of my debate with Olga - the Russian Economist dropped https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2uN_t....

On this point: an intention I've always had - and plan to expand on in 2026 - is engaging more dissenting perspectives than the ones we usually cover on the channel. There's plenty of channels whose preference is merely interviewing people and covering issues in ways that just reaffirm what they already think.

I can't do that. Confirmation bias is not how you grow and improve.

And that is more critical than ever in this international disorder and growth of AI, disinformation and polarisation. So l choose to engage, with constructive intentions.

That said, l am curious if you support this and if so, what extent? And most of all, for you to comment below the names of people you'd like me to engage.

I care about truthfullness. I’ll hear people out, as long as they too care about truthfullness.

Need to do a better job articulating your arguments. Same with guest. Maybe dubbed in their native language. IDK. It was messy and i didn't get a lot out of it. I feel both of you were saying alot of talking points / narratives, but not going into to detail to dispel or solidify arguments. I like the premise but you got to put the work in.

I would like you to also focus on other countries perception about this war...not EU and USA. Africa. Asia and South America. So we can get a better picture globally.

Olga only confirmed my biases. And in my opinion offered nothing beyond the typical ruzzian colonialism arguments. Also she was hard to follow while not presenting novel arguments. She also was not really interacting with arguments she had to counter. If you have guest like you should be harder on them pushing them to give better arguments but in good faith.

Confirmation bias is truly annoying Pyotr. Listening to another POV doesn’t mean you buy it hook, line and sinker. It simply means you’re willing to engage in healthy debate and acknowledge there could be another side to the coin.

Information comes from all sources, even people we disagree with... We should give more effort in understanding other humans as that's the only way to advance together.

It would be great to see the perspective of countries in the region - Poland, Slovakia, Baltic States, Finland even Kazachstan. Would be interesting to see it from the perspective of China. Not neccessarily interested in the perspective of Africa or South America or India as they do not understand this conflict and usually view it from the perspective of "Soviet Union helped anti-cpolonial struggles so now they are continuing it as Russia" , so the invasion of Ukraine is somehow anti-colonial war of conquest. Which is just too much bullshit for my patience. A good hhistorian of the region would be excellent. Timothy Snyder is a legend but not sure if that's not too high of a bar. Any decent historian would do well. Also some business people from Russia that would explain about doing buisness there. maybe a cultural scholora that could explain the differences between the Russian and Ukrainian Orthodoxy not so much doctrinal but the organizational split and conflict.

I am very much for alternative opinions, but they should be based on facts, as well as evidence to back it up. If Olga had been Pinocchio, then her nose would have stretch from Moscow to London. Please, don't bring her back.

Yes, but preparation is key. Lousy performance does more harm than good. Confrontation is great, but both sides should be ready.
