An alternator can be a simple job, provided space available, go shopping around parts yards for a good one, take off the belt, swap them and put the belt back on. Only a couple bolts and fiddling with the serpentine belt. You can check the pulleys while you're at it to listen for humming (bad bearing in pulley).

Make sure it's not a bad ground connection or bad connection at the batt/alt, especially if in the rust belt. Also, never buy parts locally as stuff like this is WAY cheaper online, and if willing you can replace just the electrical parts instead of the entire Alt. Buying used locally is all I ever do but may not find an Alt on there.

I can’t comprehend why is everything happening to you. Surely I have a boring and miserable future. But I feel sorry for your unlucky times. ❤️😟

Get GAP insurance it covers the difference between your loan and what auto insurance pays out and check with your bank if they offer a down payment of some kind on a new ride. My credit union offers 2k if I crash my car and need a down payment.

Ugh that stinks. My new/used car needed a water pump about four months after I bought it. I still love that car, but that ended the honeymoon. Thinking of you and your troubles.

Another friend recently got one of those mazdas after her nissan got wrecked out, and it too had the alternator give out less than a week after

was the alternator new/recently replaced when you bought the car? alternators are just one of those parts that last a while but will have to be replaced at some point. they usually last ~7 years/150k miles (whichever is first)

Octember strikes already. New/used car, alternator is already beginning to fail (2010 Mazda 3) I suppose I shouldn't of expected anything less for a FB marketplace clunker but I'm broke thanks to the setbacks going on since last year so what choice did I have... I did have insurance on the last car (2020 Rogue) but it was on finance so I'm probably gonna get less than a quarter of its value depending on how much was paid off...
