As you probably know – economy picking uses less energy than alternate picking and gives a slightly different sound. Neither’s better than the other – they’re different paths to the top of the mountain. But economy picking definitely has its advantages over conventional ways of picking because it allows you to play arrangements of notes that cannot be picked any other way – as you’ll see!
