RockyRailroad Animation

I feel like whenever I make something besides the train animations, it gets very little viewership, and that makes me feel like I've done something wrong. If you're wondering why I haven't made that much train art in the last year or so, that's primarily why. I understand that most of my audience is here for train related content, and I definitely still like making it, but, I sometimes feel as though I'm discouraged from making anything else.

That extends to my live action videos as well, I also notice those tend to perform poorly even when they're about train-related stuff.

Is it something about me appearing on camera or in narrations that you folks don't like?

I've had this feeling for a while but it only came into words when, last night, some folks in a train group chat described my Isambard Inkblot cartoons as boring. Maybe they are. But I put a lot of time and effort into them, with the hope of being entertaining.

I've throughly enjoyed every video of yours I've seen thus far, the Inkblot stuff, the train stuff and the in person stuff. Honestly was impressed with the range of stuff you do!

I confess that I came to this channel at first for the railroad stuff - I watch all of your model RR vids as soon as they release, and it's a shame they don't attract more views. I'm a big fan of your narration, myself, both competent and homely to listen to. I find the animations absolutely captivating, particularly Isambard's varied adventures. 'Boring' is the opposite of how I'd describe your work - it's delightful, and often I come back and rewatch your work. I do wonder whether your view counts are suffering on some videos at the hands of the algorithm? Which in my view is a tremendous shame. As an artist myself, I very much empathise with you - putting so much work into something, only for it to go unnoticed/get shat upon is a real drain - I hope it's some small consolation that seeing your work was part of the inspiration for mine, particularly on the rare occasion I piece together an animation.

Oh I can relate to this a lot, seems like everyone only watches me for my Polar Express animations which has been really starting to bother me lately, I have so much other original content that hasn’t even been looked at by anyone. (other than my friends) I really want my other animations to get more recognition but sadly no matter how hard I try it just never works.

No, I’ve just enjoyed the movie animations you’ve made, and I do understand that feeling sometimes. Most videos of mine have usually the same kind of audience, so I can understand where that’s coming from, so I usually try and combine the two and see if that works out. But staying on topic, I have seen some other videos and I quite like the effort put into any of them.
