As you may have noticed, I've been taking a break from mixing 80s tunes in favour of revisiting my post-university 20s and the music that helped shape those years. Those 90s dance beats are generally easier to edit together compared to the variety of tempos from 80s pop tunes, so these mixes tend to involve less work. But it's not the only reason I've been focusing more of my attention on this latter decade lately: frankly, the increase in copyright blocks YouTube has been slapping on most of my mixes has sucked most of the fun of posting here. I felt like I was building a great library of retro DJ mixes that could be enjoyed by the widest audience possible, only to watch it chipped away little by little over time. It's been such a drag, I can't even put it into words.
That said, my goal is to crank out a couple new 80s mixes in the coming weeks, and I may even tempt the YT gods by trying to post at least one of them here. Stay tuned!
