It looks like a lovely wedding. Good for you. I eloped and my parents gave me a check for $35,000 (to be honest, I think they were relieved not to have to do a year of planning). I put it towards a down payment on an apartment in Brooklyn Heights. π

As an immigrant I donβt have the balls to tell thousands of family members that have waited for this day that itβs a waste of moneys π. People only say this when they go into debt, but save for it people

Yeah Iβm on the boat that feels big weddings are a waste of money. Iβve had talks about this with friends and family who have spent 100k + on their weeding. Inspite of this I can appreciate for people who think this is their rich life , have committed to saving and enjoying it with their loved ones. Kudos. I still think it is a big expense.

It s not a waste of money as long as you can afford it and as long as you are doing it for you and for your beloved ones not for society not to empress anyone.

I Will Teach You To Be Rich
I got a comment that said: "Weddings are such a waste of money"
TO YOU! The idea that "weddings are a waste of money" is such a weird belief. You rarely hear the same unanimity around home renovations, gargantuan trucks, boats, or Disney vacations. (Gender definitely plays a role here.)
I HAPPILY saved and spent on my wedding because it was IMPORTANT to me.
And the great thing is, you can spend MORE on what's important to you.
I'll show you how to design YOUR version of a Rich Life (and how to afford it) inside Money Coaching β iwt.com/moneycoaching-ct
