This episode was pretty good. We got right into the action and there wasn't really anything else in the way. Well, other than...
Cake At Stake: There were a couple of good bits here, but nothing that made me laugh too much. Though the thing with Woody constantly being afraid he'll be eliminated, only for Spongey to be shown leaving the series in the end, was a nice touch.
Challenge: The challenge today is a test, and it sets up some great ideas that are used effectively! I don't think I even have to mention mini Pencil and "Just drew a little doodle!" These are iconic, and likely to intrigue new viewers even today. Jacknjellify really knew what they were doing, even when they were new to the craft back then.
Not all that much happens, but that's to be expected from a challenge both at the start of the show and with not that much in terms of nuance. I'm sure that in later seasons, this episode would have been extended frivolously with lore and character development, but as of now, it's good enough. Although, something I will comment on is Blocky stealing the test answers, which causes their loss in the end.
Losers: The Squishy Cherries lose this one, and it's fitting. After the Squashy Grapes lost two teammates in a row, it was only natural for the other team to suffer a loss today.
Overall: It was a nice episode, but it has almost nothing in terms of story progression other than the next elimination. I can see how it could have been improved, but even still, they did everything they could do with what they had and what they knew. I'll give it a B-tier rating, but only because it could have definitely done better. Otherwise, it would have gotten a C or lower.
