Jerry Lee, Elvis, Little Richard, Carl Perkins. All of those early rockers had larger than life personas, and were true originals.

I have no talent for instruments. But I grew up listen to my dads LP collection with Jerry Lee Lewis among others. Think most of the LP collection was The Killer, as father collected both the rock'n roll and the country albums. My dad got hold of most of them I belive when he was a sailor as cook, later chief steward. I will miss him like the other greats we have lost in recent years. Love from Norway

He’s personal life was a bit strange - married his 13 year old cousin weird.

Jerry Lee Lewis has died. RIP to the Killer. Whole Lotta Shakin' was one of the first pieces I learned on the piano (badly). He was the type of guy who used to get famous doing rock music - someone with an outrageous personality and musical talent. Let's not forget that rock and roll was once a controversial art form that was performed and produced by people who were actually interesting. I genuinely feel bad about Jerry Lee's passing as a lifelong fan. Pioneer, genius, loveable maniac. I will miss Jerry Lee.
