My latest video was a labour of love, inspired by my own teeny tiny daughter.

I spoke to experts about how babies – and therefore all of us – learn to speak. The process is little short of miraculous, so please do give it a watch.

And why not share it with any new parents you know? I made it with them in mind.

Loved it. Best one yet. I'm not a parent, just a wannabe teacher.

Beware of the cat😮! My kids are bilingual, in French and English, but the first word they actually articulated consciously, I think, was «  lily », the beloved housecat’s name. Strangely enough, and I do not think they were particularly gifted or advanced, a month later (they were 14 months or so), they were saying « cat » to my wife or « chat » to me. Suddenly they had mastered the notion of the individual, the species, and the two languages at once. Good luck to AI.

Hello Rob, quick question for you although I suppose I could just google it - do any other languages have the ability to change the same sentence into different meanings simply by the tone of voice emphasising one word in it? Like in English you could say ‘I didn’t mean to kill the vicar’ and it would mean something different depending on which word was stressed…

Based on the subject of this video (which I very much enjoyed --thanks), you should read "The Golden Egg" by Donna Leon. Great book/author.

Love your videos, Rob, and I'm not sure if someone has mentioned this before, but "Cellery"? Oh dear.... was it there to see if we are really watching? 😳

I shared it with my friend that has a 2 month old baby, so that he can experiment with him. His other baby, the older one, is a bit more than a year old, so he’s over the hill already.

Stop changing your video thumbnails after initial upload. It’s confusing and therefore obnoxious
