I always thought it was the Shadow Mantle itself, and that the mantle was sentient. I also believe that King stole it from Seam wears it during chapter one.

idk what any of it means but i think the theory that eram is king's cape that flew away is really funny

Imo, Eram is the Darkner version of the Ice-E pizza box Dess burned the eyes of, as evidenced by their theme being called BURNING EYES and by the fact that one of the only Undertale Fun Events that still don’t have a payoff is the Ice-E looking snowman named Nightmare appearing on the word search (eraM -> Mare -> Nightmare).

A darkner version of the final boss of the game Kris plays. The code itself was made into a sapient darkner that made a deal with friend being given the shadow mantle and control over the game world. (Eram being the final boss specifically because of their overly evil and cocky personality. One most often seen in main villains)

my idea is that ERAM is like an Anti-Ralsei. while Ralsei is everything Kris wants to be (or think they want to be), Eram is everything Kris fears they alredy are

Since we get this item through a game screen in a dark world, I dare to say that it is not a physical object in the light world. Same as Spamton's glasses, It's just a cape. "Erm yeah but Eram says they are holding the mantle", mhm, we can technically say the same about Jevil's Devilsknife, Jevil's tail, Spamton's Glasses, etc. But as CH3 has shown us, these objects are literally them transformed into objects to help us.

I'll be honest I literally don't know. ERAM is as enigmatic if not more than Friend to me, I have 0 clue what's going on there. I've heard good theories (yours included, great video!), but I remain unconvinced by any

Me and my friend who are into Fire Force and Undertale/Deltarune have recently jokingly been making comparisons between the two series (like we think The Roaring is going to basically be Deltarune's Great Cataclysm; which ends up indirectly creating Undertale by fusing the dark and light world. Making the world more "gamey"; like how Fire Force indirectly created the Halloween UNserious world of Soul Eater) And recently we connected another concept from Fire Force to Deltarune known as dopplegangers; which are tulpa-like beings created from Adolla (the collective unconsciousness of humanity that's on another plane of reality); based on how that character is perceived So let's say for example that I'm actually a pretty chill and kind person. But I am perceived by the general public as a rebellious punk who bullies people and pushes the elderly down the stairs; my doppleganger would have those traits So basically me and my friend think Ralsei is meant to be Asriel's doppleganger created by the darkworld (hence why he's super cute, proper, and pretty intelligent. Because Asriel in Deltarune is seen as "The golden boy" child.) And I proposed that Eram is supposed to be Kris's doppleganger; based on how they're perceived with their violent tendencies based on dialogue/things from the chapter4 eggroom It would explain why Eram only showed up in the darkworld Kris specifically made. And it would explain why they seem to be an instigating jerk that kept saying stuff playing on Kris's violent tendencies (even though they are clearly not a violent nor bad person)

Honestly, I think it’s the literal representation of the snow grave route made into a game, Eram is just the end waiting at the end of it, he’s the one trying to stop you from ending it

i always thought it was a reflection of the roaring knight, it resides in the shelter and its battle theme is really close to the roaring knight battle theme, its basically if the roaring knight had its own videogame character

About the horned headband, I'm part of the camp that believes that is what Ralsei is
4 weeks ago | 2
the headband just makes sense, ERAM's shape is that of a silhouette of a head with a headband (becomes clear when you compare it to kris's silhouette in the tenna flashback), not to forget the red horns on the door leading to them.as for why it's in the bunker maybe kris dropped it there whenever the incident leading to dess's dess-appearance happened? i have no clue.

always thought of eram as a demon catti summoned with kris that caused the whole dess shelter thing (sinse friends are their summons they could just use one to lure children there. a cat is much more aproachable and "harmless" after all)

ERAM, the entity talking to you, and the thing that you fight are two seperate things. The thing is the Shadow Mantle itself, animated by ERAM. But ERAM, probably Friend, or at least related to them very strongly.

It’s also worthy to note ERAM’s ‘ralseiisms’ (fire, horns, fangs) and how ERAM effectively serves as a foil to Ralsei. Ralsei is Kris’ love and compassion, but ERAM is Kris’ anger and hatred. Not an argument for hornband btw
