Melissa Dougherty

I know that this is a long interview, but please take the time to listen to it. Teasi's story isn't an isolated one, and I have a feeling that many of you who listen to her will find yourself in her story.

I found myself frustrated and even angry at times listening to this. I can't think of a better video to demonstrate the abuse of power and the manipulation that some pastors have over their congregation.

**And how they get away with it, playing the victim while making victims all while twisting Scripture to justify it.**

This pastor? Is Steve Berger. 🧐

Hey this comment is to Melissa about her quote above the video. Love what you had to say. I am also reading your book "happy lies" right now and there are a lot of connections to this video. Your book gives a good explanation of how this happens and why this happens. So for those watching the video I encourage you to read Melissa's book also and understand how NEW THOUGHT is influencing churches all over the world. Thank you Melissa for your endorsement of this video and your book! This video is a real life example of the destructive power and controlling nature of the new thought movement.

I watched it a couple days ago. It reminds me of a situation my dad was in. It kind of started when I was in grade 12 but it really got bad to where he was kicked out of the church while I was in university. It really sucks and I'm sorry for the people in these situations.

Any church that controls manipulates or abuses people is one have no time for! Would not engage the chaos God word is clear to me on behavior. I have left congregations for “petty”actions God’s purpose for me is clear And I have had time to assess what and where my purpose lays. It is not in the battlefield such as in this video reflects.

Oh wow! I know Teasi personally and was at the church at the time of the betrayal. I was on staff at that church, and they flat out lied to me about why she left — after I already knew the story from her mouth. It was ugly and caused me a lot of stress to be in that environment. Steve Berger is a prideful and intimidating man. I didn’t like being around him.
