Dude, was just telling someone about your trip and the fabled abandoned canoe. Can’t wait to check out what you’re up to.

Excited to see you went back for her. We get attached to our small craft. I don't know if it's the trust we put in them getting us home safe through hair-raising adventures or the freedom and joy they represent. I was so sad when you had to leave her behind. Happy paddling

That many miles creates a bond between a man and a canoe. I get it. Looking forward to the next trip into the unknown. 👍

I’m extremely envious of the number and diversity of quality rivers you have access to in Canada, but not the bears. I’ll take the snakes in the Australian bush any day of the week. Nevertheless you’ve inspired me to rewatch your ‘Abandoned Canoe’ odyssey again, this time on a 75” screen

Saku is probably asking for another 2,000 km walk with you through another wilderness area!

As per earlier conversation… was there any consideration given to a live lecture about previous journeys in New Brunswick?

Great shots, but I don't see a life jacket!!! Or, is it under tour coat. Not good for young viewers who need a good example.

My old friend the Abandoned Canoe, still in fine form! She's got a spirit and character all her own. She carried me and Saku 1000km across the wilderness of Labrador and Quebec, spent 4 harsh years tied to a remote tree, bitten and clawed by black bears, and still lives on! If she could only talk, she'd tell a few stories! It was well worth the 8000km drive and 200km canoe trip to retrieve her.
The other day I ripped her down a small stream in Newfoundland. It's invigorating to feel the power of a river push one along! There's nothing like it.
This Esquif Prospecteur canoe was and still is a durable, enjoyable boat to paddle. Perfect for expeditions alone or with a partner. It's 15 feet and weighs 60lbs. A capable, hardy vessel.
Wishing you great adventures this weekend! There's no time like the present to get after it!
More to come,
Justin
