On Nov. 16, 2021, I officially stepped away from my YouTube channel which was my passion project for almost 8 years. This was one of the hardest decisions I had to make in my life (so far).
In my post I shared some of the things which led to my decision to press "pause" on my YouTube channel, but the main reason I did not share at that time.
In October 2021, after my mom didn't feel well for a while, a massive brain tumor (glioblastoma) was found. The required surgery sadly left her with impairments similar to those of a serious stroke.
In January 2024, she passed away at the age of just 66, which was especially hard for my dad who always took great care of her, but especially during these past years.
At the end of March 2024, my dad was diagnosed with lung cancer which sadly had already spread to his liver, kidneys and brain.
But thanks to chemo and immunotherapy, which didn’t have (m)any side effects for him, he could enjoy the entire summer and autumn spending time with the family and doing what he loved most.
In December he sadly got worse fast, and a few weeks ago, my dad passed away too at the age of 73.
My dad always said:
"Life goes on, because it must.
Do what you love, be grateful for everything that you have, take care of yourself and your loved ones.
Don’t be sad when something comes to an end, be excited for what begins next.”
So, I am trying to do that, to be excited for what comes next. 😀
I don’t know yet if I will "unpause" my YouTube channel and start to make videos again, but during the past 3 years I did truly miss it. And there have been many topics where I felt that I could have been helpful.
DICE announcing their new CTE 2.0 aka. Battlefield Labs, which this time aims to involve the community during the active development of the next Battlefield game to release a good game, sounds like something that could lead to some videos.
And having Battlefield restart my channel would be fitting, as the trainwreck that was Battlefield 4 is how this channel came to be in the first place.
We will see.
Until then, take care of yourself and your loved ones!
