अन्नके तीन भाग बनते हैं - स्थूल (मल), सूक्ष्म (सप्त धातुएँ), अति सूक्ष्म (मन)।

अतः शुद्ध आहारसे मन शुद्ध होता है जिससे फिर स्मृति दृढ़ होती है।

What difference does it make what food I consume?

Food is processed by the body in three parts -
1. the gross (excreted),
2. ⁠the subtle (7 fundamental tissues -
• Rasa (plasma),
• ⁠Rakta (blood),
• ⁠Mamsa (muscle),
• ⁠Meda (fat),
• ⁠Asthi (bone),
• ⁠Majja (bone marrow),
• ⁠Shukra (reproductive tissue)
3. Most subtle - the Mann (mind)

Hence eating PURE FOOD i.e. -
- sattvic,
- ⁠earned by righteous means
- ⁠eaten in the right quantity
- ⁠with the right attitude (Yagya Bhaav)

Leads to a PURIFIED (and peaceful) MIND

Which leads to long-lasting MEMORY.
