Get Sleepy

Do you ever listen to our stories during the daytime, so you can hear them all the way through? 😄

If so, which activities do you find to be the perfect accompaniment?

House chores? Walking the dog? Relaxing on the sofa?

So lovely to hear about all your additional use cases for Get Sleepy! It seems gentle, quiet hobbies go hand-in-hand with our stories 😌

I often listen to them during the day. Chores, needing a break from 'noise', walking. I will play a game on my system and take off the volume and listen o a story instead. It's like having a friend with you. It's comforting.

I’m a napper as I have a young child who still naps so, I love listening to your shorter (1-1.5 hours) episodes. I also love that there are several episodes we can listen to together (the Crow episodes, Beira and Brigid, the Auggie and Cheese Puff episodes, The year of the Cat and the Rabbit in the Moon Forest, and several of the Halloween episodes/Basically anything written by Shady Grove Oliver and narrated by Thomas. Thomas you have whispered toddlers all the way through middle age to sleep in our family for going on 10 years now. You have gotten us through difficult nap times, bedtimes, and autistic meltdowns/panic attacks that I couldn’t have managed alone, and our family is so grateful that you have used your talent and gift to share and support others that you’ve never even met. Again a special thanks to Shady Grove Oliver as well as Simon (both the Auggie series and the Garden of Mythical Creatures). ❤

I have a severe chronic illness that I am slowly recovering from through nervous system work! Sometimes I’m not really in the mood to meditate but too weak for any other activity. I listen throughout the day with my eyes closed as I lay in bed during a flare. Love this channel thank you for everything!

I can't, they knock me right out! Your videos are the absolute best, I have had troubled sleep since early childhood and now at nearly 40 I finally sleep. Half the time I'm out before the story actually started 😂 Thomas says it's time to get sleepy and my brain immediately complie

Only at night, my friend. That’s when, amidst the personal pain and anger in the world, I need to hear a friendly voice…a non-judgmental one…one that reassures and soothes so that I can fall asleep. ‘Tis something I cherish every night.

I fall asleep in the day too after a few minutes. I'm dying to hear any story fully 😂😂

I’ve Pavlov-ed myself into relaxing the moment Thomas says “-and we get sleepy” - I unfortunately can’t risk disrupting the only insomnia cure that has worked for me😅

Absolutely. I love all the detailed stories & the wonderful narration. Of course, Thomas is our favorite. Thank you all for the calm. My recent favorites are the family of space explorers, your animal facts series, all the mythology, and your history series. I agree that my cherished favorites are The Rainy Day Bakery, Beauty & the Beast, the Augie Series, the tiny family, and all your travel stories. ❤.

All the time! 😅 I usually listen while I paint or crochet. The stories are just so well written, I want to hear them all of the way through. However, I fast forward through the intro bc Thomas' voice triggers my sleepy neurons

You and other channels that tell these sleep stories will forever have my gratitude. I've struggled with sleep since I was 7 or 8 and it's been a long struggle to find something that helps other than meds. The last couple of years I've used a sleepmask with Bluetooth to listen to stories and I'm so surprised at how well it works. I will listen to alot of the stories when I need to wind down during the day or the days my illness is especially bad. Again, so grateful for what you do. Thank you.

Yes. If I'm curious abt the rest of the story or am anxious or just really tired and need to rest but not sleep I will listen now and then during the daytime. I appreciate what you do so much. It helps a great deal. Thank you. I mostly enjoy Sarah in the cabin, travel stories, historical stories, animals, and market and flower, nature themes. I'm not big on the fantasy stuff.

I hadn't thought about listening to the stories during the day but I might start. It would be nice to hear a whole story 😄 I might listen to the bakery ones while I do some baking tomorrow
